Hi. Hello. Welcome to Dialogue with Darwin. This is a series that we are building on to talk about the evolution in HR and to learn key insights from leaders within HR, about how HR has evolved over these years. On that note, I would like to know, what do you think is one aspect about talent that organizations have evolved about in the past decade?

Indrajeet: I think the first thing is demographics have changed. You have four or five generations in the workplace. You also have a distributed workforce today. So, talent mobility is very key, and people could be working from anywhere. So global jobs are no longer based on the us or Europe. I would say that I'm seeing these two as two driving factors where mobility and managing the skill with that mobility is a big shift from a talent standpoint. I think it's adding a lot more resources if companies are willing to be more flexible on another note.

Anchor: We wanted to pick your mind on a very hot topic, which is spoken about digitalization. What do you think is the change that has happened in an organization's approach towards digitalization in the last five years?

Indrajeet: So, the part about the basic level of capturing. I think most companies have moved that journey. So, from paper to getting into a system is probably there. I think most of them, even if they haven't done it, they're at least making efforts quickly to get on that. The second one is when I'm trying to make an impact.

Through my work where companies like ours, which is distributed, um, across various state's cities and so on, you can't really have just that much of work being done, uh, in an efficient way. So, you're trying to make your workflow smarter. You're trying to make sure that it is the same type of experience and finally is eventually at a point in time where will you start intelligence to help you take decisions without sacrificing creativity?

I think the debate is still very open about. Creativity is going away to, uh, you know, uh, intelligence as an artificial medium. I don't know if we will get to that stage yet, but that's like the most advanced stage that I feel we will eventually get to where a chunk of the work can be done by machines in some form.

And they're all networked with, while the human part of the creative part can continue to remain.

Anchor: Thank you so much for sharing those insights while these are external evolution that has happened in the world around us, we are keen to know what's the personal evolution that you've gone through.

One thing about you that you think has changed a lot from the day you've started your career to. I think I started, uh, with a company which is GE and I'm immensely thankful because I learned, uh, HR processes and efficiencies very early in my career. And probably because the company was cutting edge with its own technology.

Probably I got to see 20 years ahead in what the world would eventually get to when I look at it now, with Koch and the brand and what we bring as an experience to consumers, I think it is also more relationships. So, I think where I have migrated myself is, uh, you must find this fine balance between process.

And the rigidity of a process at the same time, the value of a relationship as human beings. Really interesting to know, uh, just to know a little more about you, but in probably the instant way, like the beach way. Okay.

Anchor: Your favorite hangout place at work?

Indrajeet: Probably it is the canteen. So, I would still like to do some of my informal conversations brainstorming, over there.

Anchor: What is one quality in a team member that you will admire?

Indrajeet: Ethics

Anchor: What is one book that you would recommend to every team member to read?

Indrajeet: I think future shock is something that I always recommend to everyone.

Anchor: what is one resolution you've taken for 2020?

Indrajeet: I think I will change some of my healthy habits. So, a lot around physical movement, a lot around eating. Well, a lot about reducing stress. If you must ream HR, what would you call it? So, I think human relations is what I would like to keep it. Thank you so much.

It was wonderful interacting with you. Thank you for joining us.
