Hi, Tanushree. Hi, welcome to Dialogue with Darwin, thank you for joining us today. The first thing I would like to ask you is what is one aspect of talent where you think organizations have started approaching it very differently Uh, now Vis-à-vis the past?
I have been a startup person for a pretty long time. And, uh, how we approach to hire the best of the talent is. We look forward for a problem solvers right now, we don't need the domain expertise to be very frank. In my last organization, my current organization, uh, none of the founders are from the domain expertise. They have actually no experience on the designing or probably the last part, but they are doing wonderful. Fantastic. Right. So this gives us an, uh, um, feature that we have to look for. Uh, people who are extremely problem solvers, who can think, you know, very structured thinker, they figure out the problem very quickly and they don't, you know, probably feel that they can, you know, put their hands dirty in any of these, whether it's in operations, whether it's a sales, whether it's a category, whether it's the revenue driven or the new initiative, the marketing, anything that they just wanted to solve the problem. And that that's the best part.
In your experience or, uh, whatever you've seen in the past or present, what are some of the unique practices or unique value proposition that you think organizations have offered to attract the right talent?
I feel the core product, what, you know, the organization is trying to build and the founder's thought process to take them to the next level. This makes them. Uh, actually join the organization to be very frankly.
Interesting perspective. Something that's a hard debate today, uh, in every occasion that we gather. Right. Which is digitalization. Yeah. Uh, how do you think an organization's approach towards digitalization has changed in the last five years?
In these five years? What I have seen that the traditional way of handling, you know, the employees has been changed a lot. Right, I mean, it's not only about, you know, applying for the leave. It's not only about, you know, downloading your payroll, but it's all about even rather about, uh, how I'm performing in the system. What is my next growth. So this entire performance management, the entire talent development, they even look forward for. Uh, today I bring, you know, this, the capability in the, in the table, but where is my learning, right?
This digitization actually help them at the bridge between the HR and the employees to make sure that. Whatever they are doing is being appraised, is being rewarded, is being upgraded and give them the platform to learn more.
Just like what we talked about, how the industry has changed or how the organization's approach is changing. There's a personal evolution as well that everyone goes through. Uh, so we would love to learn about what is one thing about you that you think has changed a lot from the day you started your career to now.
With the time I believe that I. Learn how to keep myself patient, uh, it's, it's very important because, uh, when we say that speed matters, but we always say that, you know, the patience is the game.
Thank you for sharing that. But, uh, uh, to know a little more about you, uh, we want to do it the instant way. And hence a rapid fire way. What is your favorite hangout at workplace?
Any place where the employees are sitting to be very Frank? I just want to go and sit next to them. I feel that that's the best place to sit.
What is one quality about a team member that you really admire? So, I mean, they have to be very, very. They should take ownership and solve it individually. That's all I'm looking forward for.
What is one book that you would recommend every team member to read. The secret?
Any resolutions for 2020? Need to lose lots of weight.
So, uh, wellness has been the most popular trend for 2020. Even for our current organization. We, uh, uh, this particular year we have a team, uh, fit at work. So we have the quarterly program. We are running to, you know, keep everyone fit.
If you have to rename HR, what would you call it? I believe business partner.
Thank you. Thank you for sharing a bit about you and a bit about everything. It is a pleasure hosting. Thank you.
