Form 16B of Income Tax, known as the TDS Certificate for Sale of Property came into effect under the Income-tax Act, 1961. When the payer deducts any taxes be it TDS or TCS and pays it to the credit of Government, a Tax deduction Account Number (TAN) is to be mandatorily generated. This person is called the deductor.
